What Used To Be.

Tonight i was cleaning out my closet in hopes of making a little bit of money by selling some clothes to a local upscale consignment store. In the process i learned a lot about the person i used to be three or four years ago. (yes thats how long i have held on to a few items that need to be sold)

So as i am going through my closet, i ask my roommate to help me decided whether or not to keep things. The first thing i try on is a Free People sweater... my roommate asks "Halie when was the last time you wore that?", i respond.."Never!"... of course she says get rid of it. But my immediate reaction is "BUT ITS FREE PEOPLE..". i didn't care that i had never worn that item of clothing before. i am not sure how it ended up in my closet but it was there and probably had been because of the name on the tag. the Label.

This game proceeded to last for 30 minutes until i came to the conclusion that my mom let me spend way to much money when i was living in her house. I wanted things that were expensive because of the price tag and that was the only reason. Since i have left for school, and don't have the luxury of shopping whenever and however i want, i think i have been humbled. Don't get me wrong, i worked in highschool but i was able to buy things i wanted when i wanted (probably my downfall), i am just a lot more grateful for the things i have in my life now!
